Maybe during the installation process something done wrong: it seems
that not all spss objects are correctly registered into your system
registry.
I don't know how the network installation was made: have you a local
folder where are there some files of the spss program? Or all the
spss program file are in a folder of the network file server?
The only way I can think of registering the spss objects is to run the
rereg.bat file located in the folder where spss is installed.
That batch uses both dregedit. exe and dregedit.dat files: make
sure that they are present into the spss installation folder before
running the batch. If they aren't into the spss local folder (that is,
present into your PC hard disk), look for them into the server
spss folder.
If you have successfully executed rereg.bat but, after having
restarted your PC the problem persists, things become
more complicated: maybe you have to modify the
dregedit.dat file (it is a text file) by changing the text
containing the path of the spss installation folder (if
dregedit.dat is in the server, than ask for help to the
server administrator).
Hope this helps,

Subject: System registry object
I'm a new user to SPSS 7.5.1 and am fumbling around the output navigator.
When I try to double click on some output (e.g., a frequency table) or I
try to copy the output to the clipboard, I get the following error:
"Failed to create object. Make sure the object is entered in the system
regisrty"
This does not happen with charts.
Is this something to do with the installation (it is over a network), or a
setting within SPSS I need to change.
If anyone can help me out here and suggest what I should do, I would be
very grateful.
