I am looking to find a difference between two independent correlations. I have correlations between subscales in a group and I would like to see if the correlations for the males and females are significantly different.

I have been told that what I need to do is Fischer's z (a.k.a. r').

Can this be done on SPSS?

If not, does anyone know the formula?

Thanks! Sarah Hickinbottom Simon Fraser University
