Subject: Re: Anybody got experience of "telecommuting" SAS assignments
Content-Type: text/plain

I worked for a company full-time in the office for six months. Then after my baby was born I switched to telecommuting. It's pretty much full time in the sense that I do all of my work at home, but it's not necessarily 40 hrs a week. It works great for me because I can be with my baby and still work. I use sample data sets at home to write the code and then I dial in and run the programs in batch on the full data(1gig). The only hassles have been monetary. I provide my own computer, printer, phone line, fax machine. I also went from monthly salary to hourly pay and lost all my benefits(vacation, holidays, sick leave, etc). I guess you give and take. I'm interested in picking up more projects, but I don't have very many contacts at present. Still gotta pay those bills.
