What route are you planning on taking to the lake? If you are going near Meriweather county and are interested in seeing raptors, you may want to check out the Joe Kurz Wildlife Management Area. There is over 900 acres of old fields on the area and I frequently see raptors: redtails, red-shouldered, Northern harriors and a kestral when I am working on the area. If interested reply and I will provide directions.
