Subject:   Aggregation Question
Content-Type:   text/plain; charset="us-ascii"

Hello,

I'm working with a data set in which I have between 14 and 17 individuals grouped into teams, with a total of 20 teams in the data set. I am predicting a team level outcome with individual level predictors which are aggregated to the team level. I am already using several of the basic composition/aggregation models (e.g., mean within-group, variance within-group, maximum score, minimum score). In addition to these models I also would like to use the average of the highest four scores within the group. (i.e., combine the mean and maximum score approaches).

Does anyone know a fairly straight forward way to do this in SPSS? I can do this by hand, but I'd rather not do it that way due to the large number of predictor variables being used.

TIA,

Jay Goodwin
