The directions for printing a document to a postscript file are given on the SUGI 24 web site http://www.sas.com/usergroups/sugi/sugi24/presenters.package.html .

Basically, you need to print to a file using an Apple Laserwriter (Apple LaserWriter IINT or Apple LaserWriter Pro 600) as the printer. The directions are fairly clear (pages 25-27).

I have included the section on doing this from within Microsoft word.

Creating a PostScript File from Your Microsoft Word Document Open the document, then • Click on File , then Print and a Print dialog box comes up. • Change the "Printer" (print driver) to a PostScript print driver. If any of the above-listed LaserWriter drivers are installed on your PC, it should appear in the selection list. • Click on Print to File. • Click on OK and a Print to File dialog box comes up. • Select a name for your PostScript file using your paper number, for example: p201. (Your paper number can be found in the enclosed cover letter.) · Click on Save. Remember to reset your printer settings before printing another document.

Enjoy and look forward to seeing your paper (and you!) at SUGI!

Yeah, yeah, yeah. I know I'm late... been busy. URGENT! ;-) How the heck do I create this arcane thing called a "Postscript File". For SUGI24 submissions, we not only need 2 camera ready and 1 ms-word or wordperfect submission, we also need this post script file.

Anyone knows how to do this from ms-word?

Best... Faith
