Brad makes some excellent points.

I lived in Alaska and can confirm that Don Young and Ted Stevens are not friends of the environment by any means. They're responsible for the Tongass National Forest timber sales that cost the US taxpayer to subsidize Japanese lumber interests.

The Miller-Boxer bill is (probably) sponsored by George Miller in the house and Barbara Boxer in the Senate - both environmental friends. I also lived in California where George Miller was my congressman, and can vouch for his (and Senator Boxer's) environmental records, which far surpass those of Rep. Young and Sen. Stevens.
