Peter,
As far as Online Doc in V7 goes - IMHO, it is a major leap forward - MUCH
more comprehensive & pretty easy to use. Even if you have no plans to put
V7 in production, I would get hold of the media just to have access to
Online Doc. It has been of particular help to me when in "road warrior"
mode - no way I'm going to lug hardcopy SAS manuals half way around the
world just in case I need them! Now, I just pack the CD & I'm all set.
Regards,
S.Stevens

>John, I agree that the fragmented SAS documentation is a real pain,
particularly when my standard manuals are 1990 versions, with various later
"brown cover" versions available as well.
>
>This leads me to my question about SAS version 7 - I am lead to believe
that it has "on-line" help on CD - which is presumably more detailed and
user-friendly than the current help contained in the SAS software.
>
>However, SI (Australia) advised me against upgrading to version 7, and to
wait until version 8 is (presumably) released later in the year, due to
various bugs and "incorrect results" produced by version 7 modules. Are
many people out there using version 7, and if so, have they found it to be
useful?

>Thanks to Ian Whitlock and <UPOLEW1@westat.com> for bring to my attention
the ROUND option available with picture formats - which is obviously what I
neeeded!
>
>This is another case of the problems of fragmented SAS documentation,
which are gradually driving me sick. I suppose this option is documented
in one of the 'brown' manuals somewhere, but it's not ion my Procedures
Guide (which I can forgive, because it's now quite old) - but it's absence
from the on-screen documentation is a definite pain.
