Thanks Karsten, for sharing your thoughts with us.

Unfortunately, the very interesting SAS4Linux link has the wrong address, it should be http://pweb.netcom.com/~kmself/SAS/SAS4Linux.html. Although I have no plans of using Linux, it is interesting to read so much about it. It really looks like it is gonna be _something_ one day.

There is one remark to make about your archive notes. It looks like not all postings in the mailing list are archived at http://jse.stat.ncsu.edu/11/othergroups/sasl and http://www.dejanews.com. I think that the newsgroup differs a little from the mailing list.

There is a way to read old postings by sending a mail to the listserver (listserv@uga.cc.uga.edu) containing no subject and body text like "SEARCH LINUX and SAS and PRAY IN SAS-L SINCE 99/01/01" (omit double quotes).
