apologies for the non-spss content but this discussion on calculating age reminded me of my experiences of getting negative values for age. i frequently import files to SPSS from Excel and have found that birthdates entered mm/dd/yy between 1900 and 1930 come out to be 2000 to 2030. when calculating age, i'm getting negative ages.

if anyone has a quick way to fix this in Excel besides re-entering all the dates, i'd much appreciate it. thanks carol parise capp@jps.net
