select the code fragment to be colored, and issue command color Mtext <color-name or color-letter>

If you have a lot to do, you'll find it convenient to have a few of these commands on the tool-bar or function keys

Note also that the black colored code by default, is not color K(blacK) but sysfore - which has no single letter equivalent !
