Dear Andrew;- You're right about bays. When I was a kid, my Dad took me fishing most Sundays. We went to that big curved pier at the end of Van Ness avenue in San Francisco. You had to get there early to get space. We caught smelt, perch, anchovy, flounder, a whole bunch of other species that we named on the spot. Other people caught those great white sea bass and the occasional shark. Go see the pier today---any Sunday. It makes a nice, quiet walk; plenty of places to sit, damn few fishermen. Art
