You will find an introduction to various methods of cluster analysis in chapter 7 of my book, MATHEMATICAL CRIMINOLOGY (Rutgers University Press, 1979, out of print). At the end of the chapter there is a list of books and articles on the subject. - David Greenberg, Sociology Department, New York University
