Subject: Solved: Including Source code in Submit blocks
Content-type: text/plain; format=flowed;

Thanks to Peter Crawford, Daniel Downing and Richard Cook for replies to my problem with Base code within SCL.

Reiterating, I wanted to save Base SAS code in SOURCE entries in a catalog, and then call them into an SCL process through a submit block. I did not want to include the code verbatim, but by a reference. This separates the two code parts so that SCL need not be recompiled for base SAS code changes.

The solution should have been obvious, it has been discussed here often enough. (I excuse myself saying it had been a long week!!) Richards advice was the first complete solution received by me, and is copied below.

Thanks

David

>David, >If you are using 6.11 or above you can use the catalog access method to >include your source entry code; >ie. >submit continue; >libname code 'c:\mycode'; >filename code catalog 'code.xyzcat'; >%inc code(basecode); >endsubmit; > >This will run basecode.source from the catalog. >Hope you are able to use this !
