Dave,
I haven't noticed the persistence of the program editor in my install of V7
(TS P1). The SUBMIT command, either from a function key or the "running
man" icon (set to "ZOOM OFF;SUBMIT"), runs the contents of the editor and
clears it - just like V6. Are you using a different command to submit?

Seems to work ok in V8. I tried both a File... Save... and a File... Save
As... and both times stayed in the Program Editor.
BTW, there is a *major* change in V7 / V8 from prior releases. Previously,
when you submit a job from the Program Editor, the Program Editor is cleared
and you need to issue a Recall command to restore the contents of the
Program Editor from the stack. In V7 & V8, the contents of the Program
Editor does not clear upon Submit. I have not checked to see if there is an
option to override this behavior (if you want it overriden).
