I have two chi-square tables that represent data from seperate years, 1997 and 1998. Each table consists of 2 categorical ordinal variables representing Performance Evaluation (5 levels) and Seniority (4 levels). Both are statistically significant (p <0.05). But I want to ask if the two years are significantly different from one another. I could do a logistic regression but it seems there shouold be an earier and more straightforward way of answering this question. This question seems like it should be elementary, but I'm not sure how it should be accomplished. Any help would be appreciated.
