One of the suggestions that Michael made yesterday with my large file, is to use data view, and also give as much primary space as possible in the sortwk01, ;;; etc. I will follow this advice next time.

I am writing this note (hope not wasting your time) is that few months before, I tried to create a data set view, The input data set was a flat file, but it had variable length records.. I was told (if I recall correctly) that you cannot create a view when you read a flat file with variable length records.. It is not an imminant problem I just would like to add this info into my memory bank ..
