Subject: Re: (MVS) Re[2]: Sorting large data sas data sets: Help !!
Content-type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii
One of the suggestions that Michael made yesterday with my large file, is
to use data view, and also give
as much primary space as possible in the sortwk01, ;;; etc. I will
follow this advice next time.
I am writing this note (hope not wasting your time) is that few months
before, I tried to create a data set view,
The input data set was a flat file, but it had variable length
records.. I was told (if I recall correctly) that
you cannot create a view when you read a flat file with variable length
records.. It is not an imminant problem
I just would like to add this info into my memory bank ..
Thanks
