I would unsubscribe from SAS-L. You can set SAS-L to "nomail", but the
effect is much the same: nothing is sent to you and you must contact the
listserver again to set it back to "mail".
However, either way, send a message to the listserver (listserv@...)
signoff sas-l (to get off SAS-L)
set sas-l nomail (to stop receiving mail)
when you return, send one of these to the listserver as appropriate:
subscribe sas-l _your_name_
or
set sas-l mail
