If the sas session closes normally, the treatment of those sasWork areas is
contolled by option WorkTerm.
Have you tried that option?
If the SAS session fails abnormally, no sas system option will be applied, and
the sasWork areas will be left.

Does anybody know how to clean up the spool data in the 'SASWork'
directory with options. I have tried 'nospool' and 'cleanup'. But it
seems to work only in Window 95 not in Window NT.
I would appreciate your help.
