Subject: a random sample.

Dear All,

I would appreciate if i would receive your comments on the following exercise that I should carry out.

1. there are two data-sets, say MAST1, MAST2 (both have the same number of variables).

2. Randomly select 50% of each data-set. That is, take randomly 50% of MAST1 and another 50% of MAST2.

3. Output each of these randomly taken 50 from each data-set to two new data-sets, say EXP1 and EXP2. So, EXP1 will contain 50% of MAST1 and 50% of MAST2. EXP2 will have similar construction to EXP1. That is, EXP2 will have the remaining 50% of randomly selected cases of data-sets MAST1 and MAST2.

I would be grateful if I would have your advice on how to procced. The provision of any SAS codes would be very welcome and well appreciated.

Thank you very much indeed for taking the time to consider my request. I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours sincerely Panos Papanikolaou UWCM Cardiff Great Britain
