How do I change who can send mail to my list?
Changes of posting privileges are made by updating the list's headers under Manage Lists/Edit List Configuration rather
than via listserv commands.
The headers affecting who can post are:
Send=
perhaps in combination with Owner= and/or Editor= headers.
Common settings are:
Send= Owner
- only the owner(s) can post
Send= Private
- only subscribers can post
Send= Public
- anyone can post (watch out for spam with this one!Highly NOT recommended)
A useful header combination is
Send= Editor,Hold
* Editor= userid@node,(LISTNAME)
These setting allow subscribers to LISTNAME to post without
impediment, but direct any postings from non-subscribers to the
list editor (userid@node) for approval.
