Free Classroom Resources and Experiences

Dairy Leaders of Tomorrow is a comprehensive program designed specifically to prepare high school students to pursue careers in the dairy industry. Using a three-part model, Dairy Leaders of Tomorrow offers classroom curriculum, on-farm experience opportunities as well as scholarships for both educators and students.

Below are some of the key offerings of the DLT program:

• Online Courses
• Introduction to Dairy
• Introduction to Dairy Herd Management
• Introduction to Dairy Business Management
• Introduction to Dairy Technologies

• Lesson Plans and Resources
• Online and downloaded lesson plans, PowerPoints, etc.
• Certificates available for successful completion of courses
• Educational Experiences and Experiential Learning
• Fall Farm Tour in Chester County, both in-person and virtually
• Fall Exploration Experience at Penn State University, in-person only
• Spring Exploration Experience to be determined, in-person only
• Scholarships and Professional Development Opportunities
• Student scholarships of $3,000 each
• Educator scholarships of $1,000 each for professional development expenses
• Monthly Zoom Live Chats
• Free to Educators
• Contributions made to the Center for Dairy Excellence Foundation of Pennsylvania pay for these offerings.
• All curriculum content of Dairy Leaders of Tomorrow is copywritten by the Dairy Excellence Foundation.

Curriculum in Action

"I want to help my students find their true passion in the field of agriculture by providing hands-on learning experiences that involve both plants and animals. I use the DLT curriculum while I am teaching students about the dairy industry. In addition, I use it to provide certifications to students already working in the dairy industry to increase their skills. I have truly enjoyed teaching my students about dairy with the DLT program."
