Hello:

Our office, Wisconsin State Cartographer's Office is located in the
University of Wisconsin-Madison, would like to announce the availability of
several "unique" maps that are available from us on your bulletin board for
map and geography librarians.

The Wisconsin Land Cover Map is a stunning 42" x 50" full-color map based
on the most exhaustive inventory of Wisconsin's land cover ever completed.
A digital database maps 37 categories of land cover as interpreted from
satellite images. To show distinct land cover patterns, some were merged to
form 13 general land categories. Biologic habitats, geologic history,
glacial landscapes, man's impact on the land, and more are easily
deciphered on this map.

The Campus Image Map is a 20" x 30" poster offering a striking, detailed,
full-color aerial view of the UW-Madison campus. The map is a composite of
79 individual aerial photos taken in May, 1999. Because distortions were
removed from the photos by digitally processing all 79 images, the final
image has the accuracy of a map with a scale of 10 inches = 1 mile.

The Cultural Map of Wisconsin was published in November 1996. This
extraordinary 42" x 45" map, the first of its kind created for any state,
is a wonderful way to discover the history, culture, land, and people of
Wisconsin.

If you'd like more information about our office and/or about the maps,
please visit our web site at www.geography.wisc.edu/sco.

Thank you.
