Re the Atlas Theft Alert from Kathleen Weessies <[log in to unmask]>

If you haven't already done so, it would be wise to post the message to the
Museum Security Network. It has sites for posting stolen materials. These
are mostly artworks but there are sites for listing books. Also the
Michigan State Rare Book librarians should know if it would be useful to
post the message to ExLibris. This a suggestion from our Rare Book
Librarian.

The URL for the Museum Security Network is: http://www.museum-security.org/

""I recently discovered that our most valuable atlases are missing. Judging
by the list below, the thief knew what he/she was doing, as only the very
most valuable items in the collection were taken. Since I'm new in this
position, I can't say how long they have been missing. Is there a place
where I can register these thefts that will alert book dealers? The books
were in a restricted staff area within the always staffed map library,""

Hope this helps someone in the future.
Helen
