Colleagues-


The Boston Map Society is pleased to announce its next meeting is
scheduled for Tuesday, October 19th at 5:30 pm and will be held at the
Harvard Map Collection in Harvard Square. Our featured speaker for the
evening will be David Bosse, Head of the Library at Historic Deerfield,
who will be discussing the early map trade in Boston. David authored a
chapter: "The Boston Map Trade of the Eighteenth Century" in the book:
<italic>Mapping Boston</italic> recently published by MIT Press. In
addition, there will be an exhibit of 'Unusual Maps of Boston' to
commemorate the publication of the book<italic> </italic>which will
continue through January 2000. Enquiries are welcomed and attendees are
requested to RSVP to the Map Collection by calling 617.495.2417.
