Subject: Our Earth As Art - Satellite Images from USGS Available
Sender: Joseph J Kerski <[log in to unmask]>

Folks:

The USGS EROS Data Center (EDC) has created an exhibit of Landsat 7 scenes
that is currently hanging in the Art Hallway at USGS headquarters, Reston,
Virginia. The exhibit is called:

Our Earth as Art: A Landsat Perspective

>From more than 200,000 U.S. archive images collected since April of 1999,
forty-one were selected for their aesthetic value rather than their
scientific information. Special processing and spectral bands were used to
"create" a different perspective of Planet Earth. The exhibit has also
been displayed at the Sioux Falls Washington Pavilion Visual Arts Center.

Because of the great interest generated by this exhibit, USGS EDC is be
making copies of the images available for sale to the public! A list of
the images is available at
http://edcwww.cr.usgs.gov/l7dhf/ias_folder/artscenecatalog.pdf. Check it
out - these images are beauties! Each image is printed on a light jet
printer, is approximately 26" x 27," and includes a brief description of
the scene. These are in color, but not on "photographic paper", but on
regular printer paper. The price for each scene is $30.00 plus $5.00
handling per order.

To order: Call EDC Customer Services at 605-594-6151 for more information
or to order the images.
