Subject: Coastal charts of Lake Michigan

How could I determine what are the earliest coastal charts of Lake
Michigan (showing the Chicago area) and who holds them?  I feel
certain that the Lakes Survey (I may have the name wrong; the
predecessor to USCGS/NOAA) must have surveyed it by circa 1860.
