Subject: French Map Symbols

Is anyone aware of a symbols sheet for the French Service geographique
de
l'Armee? Specifically, we have an Asie 1:1,000,000 series (surveyed in
1899) which includes several different boundary demarcations but do not
include a legend or guide to symbols. In a somewhat convoluted question
I
believe that this series may have been used to compile the National
Geographic 1904 March supplement map of Korea. A review of the March
1904
issue of National Geographic yields no guide to the symbols and the 1904
map itself also does not have a symbols legend. Alas, any reference to
French map symbols for that era would be appreciated.
