Subject: RE: River in Russia? (fwd)

Could it be the Vivi River, as found in the National Geographic Atlas of the
World (which is actually called a stream in GEONet)? According to the atlas
it's in the Krasnoyarsk region of Russia? Here are its coordinates: 63° 52'
15" N 097° 49' 38" E. There is also a Lake Vivi in close proximity with
coordinates: 66° 48' 00" N 093° 48' 00" E (which is designated by a tourism
Web site of the region as the geographical center of Russia).

Just a thought...

Dana

Subject: River in Russia?

This is a shot in the dark, but I'm wondering if anyone can help me help
a patron.

Our patron is looking for a river in Russia (North Russia, he thinks)
called VIVEDA or BIVEDA. He's not sure of the spelling b/c it was taken
from an audio tape heard by a professor here. Of course both spellings
yield no results in GEONet and he's not having luck looking thru our
maps of Russia. I even checked a gazetteer that we have here, "U.S.S.R.
and certain neighboring areas," to no avail. If there's anyone out there
w/a specialty in this area of the world or if you have a gazetteer that
might be helpful, we'd appreciate any leads.

Thanks-

Ilene
