Subject: map subject cataloging question

I have a question regarding interpretation of these subject headings in
Library of Congres Subject Headings.

What difference do understand there to be in applying these headings?

Remote-sensing images, and
Remote-sensing maps,

especially when used as form subdivisions (delimiter v) of a geographic
heading.

I understand them to be related but different, and I'm not sure if I
understand correctly. I take remote-sensing images to be reproductions of
images such as from Landsat or aerial photos from aircraft. I take
remote-sensing maps to be images that have been enhanced to render them
according to scale, possibly to have place names or other cartographic
information added.

I further understand Orthophotomaps to have even more enhancements, such
as to render them in a uniform size (say to match the 7.5-minute
topographic map series), possibly to have contours or other forms of
physical relief added.

If I am wrong about this, are the first two headings actually redundant?
Or on the other hand, are they distinct, while Remote-sensing maps and
Orthophotomaps are redundant? If one of these is the case, why are there
different headings that mean the same thing? Scope notes in the authority
records in OCLC would be truly helpful for guidance on proper usage of
these headings.
