December 6, 2005

Dear Department of Energy (DOE) Maps-L colleagues:

This is a reminder of the fast approaching deadline for the DOE
Geospatial community to participate in the Journal of Map and Geography
Libraries (Geoscapes) Special Issue entitled, "Special Issue on
Department of Energy (DOE) Geospatial Science Innovations" The first
deadline is December 30, 2005 for submission of 50-100 word abstracts.
The intent of this special issue is to present geospatial science and
cartographically related innovations done by the DOE Geospatial
community. The issue is to profile activities such as:
*       geospatial products and techniques
*       initiatives and programs
* publicly available web resources and portals that are occurring
within, or available from the DOE Geospatial Community.
We are seeking:
*       10-12 technical articles
*       Examples of cartographic products
* Lists of web resources or portals
This work can be for any DOE geospatially related activities -- it
doesn't matter who the customer is.
Please forward this reminder to your DOE geospatial colleagues.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact us.

Thanks,
