Greetings -

I'm in search of an international place names thesaurus or gazetteer
that supports geographic heirarchies (the city of Ithaca is in
Tompkins County > New York state > USA...). The Getty is a good one
(http://www.getty.edu/research/conducting_research/vocabularies/tgn/),
but if possible, I'd like to find something that is available for
free, since my project is in the pilot stages. Does anyone know of
anything? Will sum and post off-list replies...

Thanks in advance,
Gail
