fyi, promotional info sent to me from Pratt Library School re a bill in US
Congress on digital issues

I am passing this along as information only, not sure of the efficacy of
this particular program...err, uh, the funding source looks shakey to me.

 Bills have been introduced in the House and Senate which would establish a
 trust fund for educational uses, including the digitization of cultural
 and historic material. The trust fund would be supported by a percentage
 of the proceeds from federal auctions of the radio spectrum. There are not
 many opportunities for government initiatives (particularly from Congress)
 for progressive information policy advancement. If you support this
 legislation it is important for your Congress people to hear about it.
