Joint Conference on Digital Libraries: Digital Libraries and
Cyberinfrastructure for Research and Education

This meeting, to be held in Denver June 7-11, is a major international forum
focusing on digital libraries and associated technical, practical, and
social issues.

The theme of JCDL2005 highlights the powerful role of digital libraries as
cyberinfrastructure. This cyberinfrastructure has the potential to engender
the creation of powerful new tools, research methodologies, and processes
that will enable scientists and learners to investigate the natural world,
the social world, and the human-built environment in new and previously
unimaginable ways. As global interests in computation, information
management, networking, and intelligent sensing converge, the conduct of
research and education will be transformed.

JCDL2005 is sponsored by ACM and IEEE in cooperation with
<http://www.asis.org/> the American Society for Information Science and
Technology (ASIS&T), <http://www.cni.org/> Coalition for Networked
Information (CNI), and <http://www.delos.info/> DELOS Network of Excellence
on Digital Libraries and is hosted by the <http://www.dlese.org/> Digital
Library for Earth System Education, <http://www.nsdl.org/> National Science
Digital Library and <http://www.cs.colorado.edu/> Department of Computer
Science, University of Colorado at Boulder

Keynote speakers include <http://www.jcdl2005.org/keynote.html#2#2> Deanna
Marcum, Associate Librarian for Library Services, Library of Congress;
<http://www.jcdl2005.org/keynote.html#3#3> Guy (Bud) Tribble, Vice President
