Workshop on Advanced Research in Geospatial Information Technologies for
Transportation

20-21 September 2007

Keck Center, U.S. National Academies, Washington DC

The Transportation Research Board Committee on Geographic Information
Science and Application (ABJ60) with the support of the U.S. Federal
Highway Administration will be holding a workshop on Advanced Geographic
Information Science for Transportation at the Keck Center of the U.S.
National Academies in Washington, DC, 20-21 September 2007.

This workshop will bring together leading researchers and practitioners
at the forefront of advances in geospatial science and technologies as
well as transportation science, engineering and planning.  The objective
is to look forward 5-20 years and formulate a research and development
agenda for solving the major challenges facing transportation systems
using tools available through emerging geospatial science and
technologies.

Important dates:

* 22 June 2007: 1-2 page position paper and 1 page biosketch due.
(Submit to Harvey Miller in PDF via email; email address below.)
* 13 July 2007: Invitations sent to selected participants
* 20-21 September 2007: Workshop

Participants selected through this open call will have up to $500 in
reasonable travel expenses reimbursed.  (Note: participants traveling
from outside the US must book airfare on US carriers to be reimbursed.)
