Please join the ALCTS CCS MAGERT Map Cataloging Discussion Group at the ALA
Annual Conference in New Orleans.

Date: Sunday, June 25

Time: 8:00 – 10:00 a.m.

Place: Loews New Orleans Hotel
          Room: St. Tammany

This meeting will offer an open forum for questions and answers on various
topics relating to cartographic materials cataloging. Various topics will
be discussed, such as an update on the CCS Holdings Task Force for Map Sets
and Series (Elizabeth Eggleston), MARC Discussion Paper on Recording set
information for multi-part cartographic materials (Seanna Tsung), a brief
presentation on sheet-level cataloging as it relates to GIS assisted
searching and browsing of large cartographic collections (Xiaohong Zhang of
Eastview Cartographic, Inc), and in light of recent SAR developments
originating at the Library of Congress, a brief discussion of series
treatment in the bibliographic description of cartographic materials (Rod
Pollock). We look forward to your attendance and the opportunity to share
resources that the meeting offers.
