Scholarly communication is becoming increasingly digital; this
revolutionary shift to new ways of creating, using, and storing
knowledge creates a range of opportunities for universities. How can
faculty, librarians, and technologists collaborate to use digital
technology for the benefit of academe and society?

“Digital Scholarship/Digital Libraries”
<http://www.metascholar.org/events/2007/dsdl>) is a one-day symposium
sponsored by the Council on Library and Information Resources (CLIR
www.clir.org <http://www.clir.org/>), Emory University (www.emory.edu
<http://www.emory.edu/>), and Emory University Libraries
(http://web.library.emory.edu <http://web.library.emory.edu/>).
Participants in this symposium will explore the emerging synergy between
faculty members and librarians who are jointly expressing knowledge in
innovative ways through digital scholarship and library systems. Topics
to be addressed include:

* The transformational impact of digital media on scholarly communication.

* The roles that digital library systems undertake to build and sustain
our scholarly cyberinfrastructure.

* Strategies for successful collaboration among faculty, librarians, and
technologists.

This symposium seeks to promote a better understanding of the impacts of
and the best practices for such collaboration.
