We would like to bring to your attention the most recent issue of
Cartographic Perspectives, the journal of the North American
Cartographic Information Society. Bob Kibbee and Angie Cope are the
co-editors of a column in the journal for map librarians: CARTOGRAPHIC
COLLECTIONS. In issue Number 59, Winter 2008, there is an overview of
the column’s history including a bibliography of articles written during
the column’s 20 year history.

You are invited to take a look at these articles and consider submitting
your story for future issues. While CP is a labeled a ‘journal’ and
publishes very high quality articles, the CARTOGRAPHIC COLLECTIONS
column doesn’t demand scholarly research or writing. The column is a
forum for communication and sharing among map librarians. Recent issues
have included full color, high quality illustrations making them that
much more appealing. Here is an opportunity to share with your
colleagues through publication. Providing a broad overview, a
description of some unique content or a new approach to a common problem
are among the topics of importance. There is also an ongoing interest in
digitization projects, web design and unique partnerships.
