Mary,

Let me be the first to CONGRATULATE you on your upcoming retirement!
Even though I knew it was imminent it still is hard to accept. I am
richly blessed to have worked with you on several major
activities/projects over the years and you have always been a joy to
work with. I am very happy for you and especially knowing we will carry
on our friendship in the coming years. You have been a mentor,
colleague, and friend to me for lo these many years and I cannot thank
you enough! Here is wishing you fantastic health, lots of fun trips, and
whatever else you wish to do in a long and happy retirement!

Sincerely, and your friend always,

Paige

I've decided that after 37 years as a map librarian,
I deserve time off for good behavior :-)
So I'm retiring from the University of California
at the end of June 2009.
All of us in my map library will
be working with the person to whom the Lab reports -
    Lucia Snowhill, Associate University Librarian
for Collection Development - to make this
    transition as smooth as possible.

I hasten to say I'm not retiring from map libraries
or from researching and writing in maps and geography -
for example, after I've retired, I'll finally have the time
to work with a map-library friend on an annotated bibliography of major
    information sources in geography.

Very great thanks to each of you with whom
I've worked over the years, and I look
forward to continuing each of those
    happy relationships after my retirement.

My personal email address is: [log in to unmask]

    Best regards,
    Mary
