Available at Cal-Atlas Web Site

Greetings,

An ESRI geodatabase file containing GIS data of the Sacramento Valley
geology now resides at the California Natural Resources Agency Cal-Atlas
web page. You can access the data by going to:

http://projects.atlas.ca.gov/frs/?group_id=164

That site contains a zip file containing an ESRI project file
(CenozoicGeologyOfTheSacramentoValley—LargeFormat—1To126720.mxd), a
geodatabase of spatial data, and a subdirectory of layer files for
symbology. The project file uses the “Store relative path names to data
sources” option, so if you open up the MXD file (after extracting the
files and saving to your hard drive), the symbology _should_ render
correctly.

Additionally, PDFs of the 5-sheet map set (and legend and map unit
descriptions) can be accessed at:

http://atlas.ca.gov/view/gallery.html

The PDF documents are located in the Geosciences category.

The Cal-Atlas home page is located at:

http://atlas.ca.gov/

The Cal-Atlas web site is an excellent source of GIS data for
California. It contains a variety of spatial data for California
resources and other statewide coverages; it also contains raster data of
quad maps and DOQQs.

Cal-Atlas also provides a feature where you can “Request to Join” a
specific project and receive e-mail updates of any changes made to the
project.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or comments regarding
the spatial data or map documents.
