1 nautical mile = 1854.965 meters (actually NIST says 1852 m).
                = 60 per degree.

GRS1980 has equatorial radius = 6378137 m.
That would make one minute of arc along equator = 1855.325 m.

Clarke 1866 has equatorial radius = 6378206.4 m.
That would make one minute of arc along equator = 1855.345 m.
