To better serve our geosciences department, our library is planning to
purchase some satellite images. We are looking at SPOT images (and maybe
Landsat images too), and my geosciences faculty have been determining
what images they need and trying to price them. They have sent a couple
of requests for pricing of SPOT image to private vendors and have
managed to get pricing from one vendor (I’m not sure who). They are
wondering if the prices and/or quality of service varies between vendors
and whether there are vendors they should be contacting, but don’t know
about. I am new to this subject area, so I thought I would check in with
this list and see if you all have any advice.
