    Congratulations, Alice!

You've been a Polaris of sorts here at Maps-L - always there, steady
as the NYPL lions, but nimble and hip on your center-stage, atop
    Manhattan's bedrock.

    All best wishes,

    Brian

July 17, 2009 was my last day at NYPL, having retired after 30+ years. A
great team remains and continues, as in the past, to lead the Division
forward, led by Matt Knutzen and Nancy Kandoian. Watch for news about
future appointments, etc. in this space, errr, on maps-l, maphist, etc.

My new email address is [log in to unmask]

My gameplan now is to finish off my forthcoming exhibition, to finish
teaching the map librarianship course over the next three Saturdays here
at NYPL, and to begin thinking about a blog, website, etc. related to a
long term project on the history, and a directory, to the map trade in
New York City before 1900. And yes, I am ordering a rocking chair!
