Hi Everyone,

I'd like to bring to your attention a very interesting article by John
T. Bauer recently published in the Cartographic Perspectives, the
Journal of the North American Cartographic Information Society, issue
Number 62, Winter 2009 (just mailed). The article is entitled: Official
automobile blue book, 1901-1929: Precursor to the American Road Map and
is a great read. Bauer is with the Department of Sociology, Geography
and Earth Science at the University of Nebraska at Kearney.

Also, there is an article about the AGS Library and the "Man of
Commerce" map toward the back written by yours truly and a colleague,
Steve Burnham. The article includes some nice full color illustrations
and close up views.

Cartographic Information Society, issue Number 62, Winter 2009.

:-)
