Since data services librarians tend to work exclusively with numeric as
opposed to spatial data (at least ours does), my guess is that the
combination is a new and perhaps logical trend.  Also, ACRL has a
Numeric and Geospatial Data Services Interest Group -

Anyone want to talk about the word "Numeric" used in 2 recent job
announcements? What, exactly, does that mean? All I can think of is the
alternatives - visual, textual - Or opposites being: connotative or
qualitative.
