Subject: Advance Announcement of Upcoming Positions at the USGS Library

The United States Geological Survey Library will soon be recruiting for
multiple positions at the GS-7/9/11 levels for the Clarence King
Memorial Library in Reston, Virginia. We are seeking dynamic
individuals with skills that cut across the library services spectrum -
from cataloging to reference to digital libraries - to provide
innovative information services for researchers, educators, policy
makers, and the general public. Highly qualified candidates will have
education and experience in all aspects of library and information
sciences; a commitment to working collaboratively to meet the mission
needs of a parent organization; and knowledge of the subject matters in
the Earth and Natural Sciences sufficient to support a scientific
research organization. The structure of this announcement supports a
broad candidate pool from experienced professionals to recent graduates
in library and information science programs.

Our recruitment process limits the open period to only 7 calendar days
and we do not know exactly when the position announcement will be
posted. To make the most of that limited time, I am writing to ask for
your help
developing a list of interested candidates whom we will directly notify
once the position is open for application. To be notified, interested
candidates should send their name and e-mail contact information by
Sunday, April 29 to [log in to unmask] Otherwise, beginning the week of
April 23 or soon after, those interested can check the USAJobs Web site
(www.usajobs.gov) for postings from the United States Geological Survey.
