We don't have a macro but use a program called Scale Finder 6. It's very
simple and also includes lots of "archaic" measurements. It was already
installed on my computer when I started working here, but appears to be
freely downloaded from: *http://www.bodley.ox.ac.uk/users/nnj/geo_tools.htm*
