Subject: Sheet boundary data for OS one-inch / 1:50k / 1:25k UK mapping

I'm very pleased to publicise the good news that the Charles Close Society
have just made available all their sheet corner data for all Ordnance Survey
One-Inch and 1:50,000 map Series of Great Britain and Ireland, as well as
the 1:25,000 Provisional Series of United Kingdom in a single KML file at
the address:
http://www.charlesclosesociety.org/KMLFILE

This information has been behind the CCS Sheetfinder (
http://www.charlesclosesociety.org/CCS-Sheetfinder ) for some years, as
well as within Ed Fielden's Coordinate Convertor (
http://www.fieldenmaps.info/cconv/ ). However, for those of us who don't
speak fluent Javascript, the availability now as a KML file is very much
more useful. The KML file can display each series individually in Google
Earth, with sheet attribute information available for each polygon, and can
be easily read by other desktop GIS, such as QGIS and ArcGIS. This sheet
boundary information is really useful for forming clickable indexes as well
as for georeferencing map series.

I'm very grateful to John Davies and Alastair Davies for all their help in
working on this, and making these available to the map community.
