         Dear all

         Apologies for cross posting (or duplication on this list, we
         seem to be having a little trouble posting!).

         We are delighted to announce that booking is now open for the
         annual Workshop of the Map Curators’ Group of the British
         Cartographic Society.

         This will be held on*Wednesday and* *Thursday 7-8 September
         2011* at the Park Inn in *York,* England.

         Join us in the historic city of York to meet colleagues and
         exchange ideas. All are welcome and you do not have to be a
         member of the BCS or the MCG to attend!

         social media to promote collection visibility

         The annual Business Meeting of the Map Curators' Group will
         follow the speakers.

         The evening will finish with an optional group meal at a local
         restaurant (for those who have booked).

         *Thursday 8th* *September***– *Visits* (approx. 9.30am-4pm)

         /York City Archives and Local History –/ See historical maps of
         York and its surroundings, including the 1624 map of the Manor
         of Dringhouses and the Knavesmire!

         /York Minster Library/ – The Old Library houses the collections
         of 17th-century Archbishop of York Tobie Matthew, which includes
         books on travel, and early atlases!

         /National Railway Museum/ – group admission includes booked
         tables for lunch, discounts on lunch and in the shop. See the
         newly displayed Royal Trains exhibition, Palaces on Wheels!

         rate rooms when delegates book via the MCG booking form. Please
