*Physical Sciences and Engineering Department Director *

The University of Minnesota-Twin Cities Campus Libraries seek a
forward-looking and creative professional to develop a shared vision of
library programs and resources to meet the current and emerging needs of
physical sciences and engineering teaching, learning, and research.

The Physical Sciences and Engineering (PSE) Department Director leads,
shapes, and oversees the work of seven professionals and nine support
staff distributed across three library facilities. The PSE Department
also has responsibility for coordinating services in the SMART Learning
Commons, and providing leadership for the institutional repository and
research services across the division. PSE staff have significant
responsibilities in the areas of campus engagement, research services,
teaching and learning including e-learning, content and collections
management, and scholarly communication.

The PSE Director is a member of the Research and Learning (R&L)
Directors group and the Libraries Leadership Council.  Qualifications
include an ALA-accredited Masters degree in Library/Information Science,
or equivalent combination of an advanced degree with relevant experience
and a minimum of three years experience in progressively responsible
positions within an academic library (or related) environment. A degree
in a physical sciences or engineering field; or significant
discipline-specific experience in an academic library is desirable.
